New investor helps Renovo deliver production wood frames

PORTLAND, Ore. (BRAIN) — Al Spinks’ investment in Renovo Bikes is helping the wooden frame maker double its production capacity and transition from custom to production frames.  Spinks is a Texas businessman who ordered a bike from Renovo, and later called to ask what he could do to get his bike more quickly. He talked to Renovo owner and president Ken Wheeler, who playfully answered, “bring money.” The following week Sprinks flew to Portland to visit Renovo’s shop. “As a longtime cyclist, I’d been following Renovo for several years and was blown away by the size of their operation, their technology, and of course, the performance of their bikes,” Spinks said.

BPSA approves e-bike staff training program

BOULDER, Colo. (BRAIN) — The Bicycle Product Suppliers Association e-bike committee, chaired by Larry Pizzi of Raleigh Electric, approved a budget this week to create 10 two-minute training videos to help e-bike retail staff better serve this emerging market. The videos will be hosted on the Myagi training website beginning March 1, and will also be accessible through the training sites of Bosch, Giant, Shimano, Specialized and Trek.
