Kona raffle and party during Sea Otter will benefit California trail groups

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (BRAIN) — Kona Bicycles will hold a pair of fundraising events at next week’s Sea Otter Classic to benefit two mountain bike advocacy groups and their efforts to rebuild trails damaged in last year’s California wildfires. At Booth 576 during the Sea Otter expo, Kona will raffle off a limited-edition bike (just 200 made) valued at $2,299. Only 250 tickets will be sold at $20 each.

Singletrack High film to be screened at Sea Otter

BERKELEY, CA (BRAIN) — Singletrack High, a documentary about the high school mountain bike racing movement, will be screened during the Sea Otter Classic in Monterey, California, later this month. The film takes a close look at the National Interscholastic Cycling Association’s NorCal league, following a group of racers through the 2012 season.  Singletrack High will show at the Golden State Theater in Monterey on April 20 at 7:30 pm. The screening will be followed by a VIP reception at the theater with student-athletes from the film and mountain biking luminaries including Ned Overend, Gary Fisher, Lea Davison, Jeremiah Bishop and others
